Please read the following terms and conditions carefully before using the services of the World Gemological Institute (WGI) and obtaining gemological reports. By accessing or using our services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these terms and conditions:

Definitions and Scope

1.1. “WGI” refers to the World Gemological Institute, a gemological laboratory providing diamonds, gemstone grading and certification services.

1.2. “Client” refers to any individual or entity that submits gemstones to WGI for grading and certification.

1.3. “Report” refers to the document issued by WGI that contains the results of the gemstone grading and certification process.

Services

2.1. WGI offers independent and unbiased gemological grading and certification services based on internationally accepted standards and methodologies.

2.2. WGI reserves the right to refuse service to any client or reject any gemstone that does not meet the required standards or if there are doubts about the authenticity or integrity of the submitted gemstone.

Submission of Gemstones

3.1. Clients are responsible for accurately and honestly representing the gemstones submitted to WGI for grading and certification.

3.2. Clients must provide all known information and documentation about the gemstone, including but not limited to its origin, treatments, and any previous grading or certification reports.

3.3. WGI shall not be held responsible for any inaccuracies or omissions made by the client during the submission process.

Grading and Certification Process

4.1. WGI will perform the grading and certification process to the best of its abilities using industry-standard equipment and techniques.

4.2. WGI will strive to provide accurate and reliable grading results, but due to the inherent subjectivity of gemstone grading, variations in results may occur.

4.3. Clients understand and acknowledge that gemstone grading is not an exact science, and there may be differences in opinion or interpretation among gemologists.

4.4. WGI’s grading and certification decisions are final and binding.

Report Issuance

5.1. WGI will issue a gemological report based on the findings of the grading and certification process.

5.2. The report will include information such as the gemstone’s identification, measurements, weight, color grade, clarity grade, cut grade (if applicable), and any other relevant details.

5.3. Clients understand that the report is a professional opinion based on the information available at the time of grading, and it does not constitute a guarantee of future value or quality.

5.4. Clients shall not modify or alter the content of the issued report in any way. Any attempt to tamper with or misrepresent the report will be considered a violation of these terms and conditions.

Limitation of Liability

6.1. WGI shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from the use or reliance on its services or the contents of the report.

6.2. WGI’s liability, if any, shall be limited to the amount paid by the client for the grading and certification services.

Confidentiality and Data Protection

7.1. WGI will treat all client information and data provided during the grading and certification process as confidential and will not disclose it to third parties without the client’s consent, unless required by law or authorized by the client.

7.2. WGI will take reasonable measures to protect client information and data against unauthorized access, loss, or disclosure.

Governing Law and Jurisdiction

8.1. These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction where WGI is located.

8.2. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these terms and conditions shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in the aforementioned jurisdiction.

Amendments and Updates

9.1. WGI reserves the right to modify or update these terms and conditions at any time without prior notice.

9.2. Clients are responsible for regularly reviewing the terms and conditions for any changes.

By using the services of the World Gemological Institute and obtaining gemological reports, you agree to comply with these terms and conditions.
